Ladder Internships is a remote internship program aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and the real-world work environment, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of their chosen field while equipping them with the skills needed for future careers. It offers students the opportunity to intern at various companies and organizations, covering a wide range of industries such as technology, marketing, finance, healthcare, and more.
The program is typically structured to last for a few weeks during the summer, although some internships may extend into the academic year. As an intern, you will be matched with host companies based on your particular interests, skills, and career aspirations. You will also be paired with a mentor from your host company as well as a Ladder Coach, both of who will provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the internship. assigned projects that are relevant to their host company's needs and their own interests. The internship, while varying across companies and industries, will comprise projects relevant to your host company’s needs, including tasks such as market research, developing marketing campaigns, assisting with financial analysis, supporting IT initiatives, and so on.

Medical Diagnosis & Treatment: This week-long program provides a realistic glimpse into the medical field, helping students understand the responsibilities and challenges of healthcare professionals. The course includes activities such as measuring vital signs, using stethoscopes, participating in computerized mannequin simulations, and engaging with standardized patient interactions. Spanning six weeks during the summer, the program is designed to challenge students academically and provide them with a glimpse of the demands of college coursework.
Participants in the Summer Scholar Program can choose from a variety of college credit courses across different formats—whether in-person, hybrid, or online. The courses cover core subjects like Trigonometry, Economics, and Calculus, as well as more specialized topics such as Introduction to Social Problems, Ethnic Studies, Human Nutrition, and even Prisons. This broad selection allows students to explore new academic interests while earning credits that can be applied toward their future college education.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore the UH Mānoa campus and its resources, guided by the Summer Scholar Coordinator, further enriching your educational journey.

The Pacific Discovery: Hawaii College Summer Program offers young adults aged 18–22 an immersive, month-long experience that combines adventure with environmental conservation. The program immerses participants in the rich cultural and natural landscapes of Hawaii, spanning the Big Island and Oahu. It features a range of activities designed to foster personal growth and environmental consciousness.
Throughout the program, you will engage in hands-on activities and community service. These include exploring volcanic terrains, participating in marine conservation efforts, and learning sustainable living practices such as permaculture farming and ecological restoration. The program emphasizes practical skills and environmental stewardship, giving students the opportunity to work alongside local conservationists to remove invasive species and support the health of vital ecosystems.
In addition to environmental work, the program includes a three-day surf camp, where you will have the opportunity to learn surfing fundamentals, enhancing your confidence and connection to the ocean.
